ASMC’s Refund and Returns Policy
Effective date: March 17, 2026
Last updated: March 17, 2026
Executive summary
ASMC’s website presents a primarily services + digital delivery commerce model:
(a) paid professional certification courses,
(b) tiered membership plans, and
(c) consulting/coaching and professional development services marketed through the site.
Given that structure, the legally lower-risk approach for ASMC (especially for immediate-access digital courses and services) is a strict no-refund / no-returns baseline paired with narrow, clearly defined exceptions (billing error/duplicate charge; unauthorized/incorrect charge upon verification; and a very short cancellation window only when no access/work has begun). This is consistent with common professional association practices that treat membership dues as nonrefundable.
ASMC transactional touchpoints relevant to refunds
- ASMC’s website positions the organization as a provider of certification programs, coaching, consulting, and corporate training.
- Key purchase and access patterns that drive refund/return risk:
- ASMC offers paid certification course purchases, with course detail pages listing a price, which indicates a digital product / digital service delivery structure where access may be granted quickly after purchase.
- ASMC offers membership plans with a mix of annual and monthly pricing.
- ASMC provides contact channels that can serve as the operational backbone for refund exception processing (email, phone, and a physical address).
- Comparable professional organizations frequently adopt nonrefundable membership terms (often emphasizing that cancellation stops future renewals but does not refund paid dues).
Definitions
- “Digital Products” means digital content, downloads, and other non-tangible products delivered electronically.
- “Access” means that a user has logged into an ASMC platform area where purchased content is available, started streaming/viewing/using content, downloaded materials, or otherwise consumed any portion of digital content or course materials.
- “Services” means consulting, coaching, corporate training, and advisory services provided by ASMC to an individual or organization.
Non-refundable / non-returnable items
Except as stated in “Limited exceptions”:
- Courses and certification programs: Non-refundable once purchased; no returns.
- Memberships: Non-refundable and non-transferable; cancellation stops future billing only (if applicable).
- Consulting/coaching/services: Non-refundable once purchased or scheduled; deposits and retainers are non-refundable unless expressly stated in a signed statement of work (SOW) or service agreement.
- Digital Products: Non-refundable and non-returnable.
Limited exceptions where ASMC may provide a refund or correction
ASMC will consider refunds or billing corrections only in the following situations:
Duplicate charge or payment processing error
If you were charged more than once for the same transaction or were charged an incorrect amount due to a processing error, ASMC will correct the error by refunding the erroneous charge amount (or the difference), after verification.
Request window: Submit the request within 30 days of the charge date.
Unauthorized transaction
If you believe a purchase was unauthorized, contact ASMC immediately. ASMC will investigate, and if ASMC confirms unauthorized use based on available evidence and platform logs, ASMC may refund the transaction.
Request window: Submit the request within 7 days of the charge date.
ASMC may provide a refund for an accidental purchase only if all of the following are true:
- the request is made within 24 hours of purchase; and
- no access to the course/digital product occurred; and
- for consulting/coaching services, no scoping, scheduling, or service work has begun.
If all conditions are met, ASMC may refund the purchase to the original payment method.
Important: If access occurred (including any download or viewing), this exception does not apply.
No refunds in common situations
Refunds will not be provided for:
- change of mind after purchase;
- non-attendance or failure to complete a course;
- inability to use services due to personal scheduling;
- disagreeing with course outcomes, exam/certification outcomes, or professional results;
- partial use of a membership term or course access period;
- cancellation after the stated request windows; or
- third-party costs not charged by ASMC (for example, bank fees, currency conversion fees, or chargeback fees imposed by a financial institution).
How to request a refund review or billing correction
To request a refund review or correction, email info@asmconsulting.org with the subject line: “Refund Request – [Order ID]”. Include:
- Your full name and the email address used at checkout (or account email).
- Order ID, invoice number, or other transaction reference.
- Date and amount charged, and the last four digits of the payment method (if available).
- A brief description of the issue (duplicate charge, incorrect amount, unauthorized charge, accidental purchase within window).
- Supporting documentation (recommended): screenshot of the receipt, bank/processor transaction record, and any relevant communications.
ASMC may request additional information strictly to verify the request and protect against fraud.
ASMC response and processing timelines
- Acknowledgment: ASMC aims to acknowledge refund requests within 5 business days.
- Decision: ASMC aims to provide a decision within 10 business days after receiving all required information.
- If approved: ASMC will initiate an approved refund within 10 business days.
- Posting time: Your bank or payment provider may take additional time to post the refund. Processing times vary by provider.
Payment processors, third-party payments, and refund method
Refunds (if approved) are issued to the original payment method when possible. If the original method cannot be refunded (e.g., closed account), ASMC may request an alternative refund method at its discretion and subject to verification.
If a payment was processed through a third-party payment processor, ASMC’s refund timing may be affected by processor requirements and fraud controls.
Taxes and accounting treatment
If applicable taxes were collected on your purchase and a refund is approved, ASMC will refund applicable taxes to the extent required and supported by the payment and tax records for that transaction.
Effect of refunds, cancellations, and charge reversals on access and credentials
- Course or digital product refunds (if granted): Access will be terminated and the enrollment/purchase may be reversed in ASMC systems.
- Membership cancellation: Cancellation stops future billing (if applicable) but does not refund amounts already paid. Membership access continues until the end of the then-current billing period unless ASMC terminates access for policy violations.
- Credential/certificate integrity: If a refund is granted or a payment is reversed after a certificate/credential is issued, ASMC may revoke or invalidate the credential, and ASMC may update verification records accordingly.
- Chargebacks/disputes: If you file a chargeback while ASMC is reviewing your request, ASMC may pause the internal review and suspend access pending the outcome of the dispute.
Transfers, credits, and prorated refunds
ASMC does not offer transfers, credits, or prorated refunds, except where ASMC provides a written exception signed (or confirmed in writing) by an authorized ASMC representative.
Dispute resolution (recommended user-facing language)
If you have questions or concerns, contact ASMC first so ASMC can attempt to resolve the issue informally. If the matter cannot be resolved informally, your rights and remedies may depend on your jurisdiction and any applicable Terms of Use / service agreement.
