This module introduces learners to the meaning, purpose, and workplace application of governance. It builds foundational understanding of governance terminology, authority structures, accountability lines, oversight arrangements, compliance boundaries, and the difference between governance and daily management. The module uses simple explanations, practical examples, guided case analysis, and applied exercises so learners can recognize how governance works in real organizations.

Module outcome

By the end of this module, learners should be able to explain governance in plain language, identify core governance actors, distinguish governance from management and compliance, and apply basic governance principles to a simple organizational scenario.

Learners complete the module when they: 1. view all lessons 2. complete all interactive activities 3. score at least 70% on the knowledge quiz 4. submit the hands-on governance starter pack project
